  • To install 7zip in Ubuntu Linux, run the following command in shell 
    sudo apt-get install p7zip-full
    To extract / decompress RAR in Ubuntu Linux use the following command in terminal 
    sudo apt-get install p7zip-rar
  • To install 7zip in Solaris 10 and 11, paste the following command in the shell 
    pkgadd -d http://get.opencsw.org/now
/opt/csw/bin/pkgutil -U
/opt/csw/bin/pkgutil -y -i p7zip 
/usr/sbin/pkgchk -L CSWp7zip # list files
