Question 194 of 1002

When you are driving into a roundabout, the car should ....

Justification

If signs or road markings do not indicate otherwise, when entering a roundabout you must position the vehicle in the right-hand lane if you are turning right or going straight ahead, and in the left-hand lane only if you are turning left. Just like you would at a normal crossroad.

In many roundabouts, however, there are road markings that are different from the standard rules of positioning. The hierarchy of authority ('myndighetspyramiden') tells us that the road markings then outrank the traffic rules.

Options
normally be positioned in the same way as at an ordinary crossroads
always be positioned in left-hand lane when you enter and in the right-hand lane when you exit the roundabout
always be positioned in the right-hand lane
be positioned in the middle of the carriageway
