It is prohibited to drive on, over or to the left of the continuous line. A prohibitory line is a solid, continuous line that separates lanes. Prohibitory lines may divide lanes of traffic that are going in the same direction (white lines) or opposite directions (yellow lines). In the regulations concerning traffic signs, it states that it is prohibited to drive on, over or to the left of a yellow prohibitory line. A yellow prohibitory line should always be combined with a lane line, a warning line or another yellow prohibitory line (called a double yellow prohibitory line). |
