Question 546 of 1002

What is correct regarding traffic accidents?

Justification

Good attitude, risk assessment and insight are more important characteristics than being extremely good at manoeuvering your car.

Most accidents are caused by human error, i.e. mistakes made by the driver. A common mistake is driving faster than the speed limit or where it is suitable based on the driving conditions. Another common mistake is the driver's lack in gaining a complete overview of the traffic situation.

Being able to skillfully manoeuver your car just doesn't have that much of an effect on accident risk.

Options
Most accidents happen because the vehicle is not safe to drive
Good attitude and risk awareness are more important than being extremely skilled at manoeuvering your car
Accidents involving overtaking other cars are a big problem especially for new drivers
Most accidents involve drivers over 75 years of age
