Question 15 of 1002

You are driving on a road with a speed limit of 80 km/h and see a warning sign. How far away is the hazard?

Justification

The distance between a hazard and the corresponding hazard sign depends on the speed limit of the road. This is to ensure drivers are given the necessary time to adjust speed and behavior before reaching the hazard.

If the speed limit is 60 km/h or lower, the warning sign should be placed 50-150 meters ahead of the hazard.

The speed limit is normally 70 or 80 km/h outside of populated areas, and the warning sign should be placed 150-250 metres ahead of the hazard.

On motorways, warning signs should be posted about 400 metres ahead of the hazard, and then repeated after 200 metres.

Options
50–100 meters
150–250 meters
The hazard is where the sign is placed
There are no specific rules about this
