Question 261 of 1002

What do you have to be particularly observant about when you drive in other Nordic countries?

Justification

White road markings may be used to separate traffic in opposite directions.

In Norway, we use yellow road markings to divide lanes of traffic going in opposite directions. In many countries, however, including Sweden and Denmark, white road markings are used to separate between both traffic going in the same direction and in opposite directions.

The picture below shows road markings in Sweden, where the lane to the left of the central lane divider is for oncoming traffic.

Options
There are more people driving under the influence of alcohol
Markings and signs have a completely different meaning than in Norway
The speed limit could be lower
White road markings may be used to separate traffic in opposite directions
