Question 126 of 1002

How much distance should you keep from the vehicle in front before crossing a level crossing?

Justification

The 3-second rule is only a rule of thumb, and in many cases 3 seconds will not be a sufficient distance from the car in front of you. When driving across a level crossing, you must of course keep enough distance that eliminates the risk stopping on the crossing.

Options
5 seconds
3 seconds
Enough distance so you won't have to stop on the level crossing if the traffic ahead of you stops
1 second
