Justification

Be aware that there will not always be both yellow and white markings.

In Norway we use yellow markings along the carriageway that separate traffic travelling in opposite directions, and white markings that separate traffic travelling in the same direction.

In many other countries, e.g. Sweden and Denmark, white markings are also used for separating traffic travelling in opposite directions.

always carry an international driving licence
pay road toll at border crossings
always use studded tyres in the winter
be aware that not all countries use yellow road markings
