Question 36 of 1002

The car in front of you has stopped. How should you proceed?

Justification

It is very likely that the car in front of you has stopped for a crossing pedestrian.

The sunlight is distracting and makes it hard to observe both oncoming traffic, and the row of parked cars on both sides of the road. You do not have a complete overview of the pedestrian crossing and should not try to drive past the car.

Options
I should pass the car right away so I don't obstruct oncoming traffic
I should maintain my speed and drive past the car with good sideways margin
I should stop and wait for the car to continue
I should warn the car with the car horn
