Use of an engine block heater in the cold part of the year reduces the emission of harmful exhaust gases.

Exhaust gas cleaning on a car is most effective when the engine has reached running temperatures. It can therefore be considered environmentally friendly to use a block heater for about half an hour, even at 10 degrees celsius.

In severe cold weather it is not necessary to use a block heater for more than 90 minutes.
