Norwegian legislation sets forth the following requirements regarding safeguarding children in cars: It is mandatory to ensure the safety of children in cars. Children below 135 cm in height must always use approved child restraints that are correct for their weight. Children between 135 and 150 cm in height must use approved child restraints, if such equipment is available in the car. The rules apply to children weighing less than 36 kg, after which both children and adults should use standard seat belts. Children must not be transported in rear-facing car seats in the front seat where there is an active airbag (it's ok if the airbag is deactivated).
