Question 739 of 1002

When should you earliest return to your lane after overtaking?

Justification

According to the traffic rules, a driver who has overtaken on the left should move to the right again when the overtaking has been completed without causing danger, obstruction, or unnecessary distraction to the overtaken driver.

A good rule of thumb is that you should not return to your driving lane until you can see the front of the other car in your rear-view mirror.

Options
Immediately after you have passed the car you overtook
When you see the vehicle in the right mirror
When you can see the whole front of the other car in the rear-view mirror
When you are 2-3 meters past the vehicle
