Question 536 of 1002

What is accurate about driver support systems?

Justification

Many of the car's driver assistance systems can be turned on or off.

This is done using switches on the dashboard or via the car's screens. Some systems, such as adaptive cruise control, turn off automatically when you operate the brake and accelerator.

The driver assistance systems do what they are programmed to do, but they have limited ability to interpret unforeseen traffic situations 100% correctly. They can also struggle when sensors and cameras misinterpret data due to poor visibility or conditions, or when other malfunctions occur.

And remember! - Even though the car helps you with driving, it is YOU who has the overall responsibility and must pay just as much attention to traffic as always.

Options
None of the driver assistance systems can be overridden when they are active
They reduce the need for you to focus on traffic situations constantly
They always make the best choice in traffic situations
Many of the systems can be turned on or off by the driver
