Question 308 of 1002

You are driving a diesel car on this road. What is correct?

Justification

The road marking on the right is a so called dividing line which marks the division between ordinary lanes and special lanes, e.g. acceleration lanes, public transport lanes, HOV lanes, etc.

In the picture, the dividing line separates two standard lanes from a public transport lane (note the public transport sign further ahead). You should therefore stay in the middle lane.

Options
I must stay in the middle lane because the right-hand lane is a public transport lane
I can use the right-hand lane
When driving on multi-lane roads, the main rule is that the left-hand lane should be used
I am free to choose between the middle or left-hand lane
