Question 632 of 1002

What is correct about the yellow line?

Justification

It is prohibited to drive on, over or to the left of the continuous line.

A prohibitory line is a solid, continuous line separating lanes. Prohibitory lines may divide between lanes of traffic going in the same direction (white lines) or opposite directions (yellow lines).

In the regulations concerning traffic signs it is stated that it is prohibited to drive on, over or to the left of a yellow prohibitory line. A yellow prohibitory line should always be combined with a lane line, a warning line or another yellow prohibitory line (called a double yellow prohibitory line).

A yellow prohibitory line looks like this:

Options
It is prohibited to drive on, over or to the left of the continuous line
It is only allowed for two-wheelers to cross the line
It is permitted to change lanes, but you cannot overtake
It is permitted to cross the line as long as it can be done without risk
