Aquaplaning occurs when there is water between the tyres and the road surface. The risk of aquaplaning increases with speed.

Aquaplaning leads to a loss of traction, causing you to lose control of the car. The only thing you can do is to let go of the accelerator, try to steer and brake and hope that you will regain grip before an accident occurs.
